canon
marcie warned me ... there are canons going off, but i don't know why. i've been sitting here at school for the last hour and it's gone off about 10 times. it's quite loud.

Sounds exciting! Maybe they are excited about something. hehehehe
Sometimes I miss the canons :o). Sometimes it seems too quiet here - no roosters to wake me up...no men in the streets yelling "dale, dale, dale!" to the cars they are helping park...no canons going off for who knows why...no honking cars or zipping motorbikes.
It's amazing how you will get used to all those things and when you come back to the States, you will have new eyes to see your home country.

Uncle Dick says he's never been to Guatamala and therefore has no idea why they shoot off canons for no apparent reason. Sorry.
